A seasonal card for Tech 4 Stampers Blog hop today. We were informed it could be anything from an autumnal card to a Christmas one, so a huge thank you to the lovely Sara Sayers for setting the theme.
I chose to make an autumnal card for the Tech 4 Stampers blog hop today. I am in the middle of creating content for two weekly series. One is a 6-week count down to Halloween and the other a 12-week count down for Christmas. So doing something other than Halloween or Christmas was a welcome change!
The Tech 4 Stampers is a monthly subscription group run by Louise Sims. She mentors and enables members to understand IT jargon and equips them with a fountain of Technical knowledge to build or manage their own websites. It takes the mystery out of “tech” and I’ve certainly grown in confidence thanks to her expertise, patience and guidance. Not only that, I’ve met and made new friends with my fellow “Techs” and love the camaraderie within the group.
This is a square card which measures 5-3/4″ x 5-3/4″ when folded. I used the die from the Beautiful Leaves dies which coordinates with the Beauty of Tomorrow Cling stamp set. Both these items are from the Blackberry Beauty Suite on pages 44-45 of the July-December 2021 mini catalogue.
The leaf die is rather large so in lieu of creating the standard card to fit in a C6 envelop, I went square !
Materials
I used two stamp sets, and 3 die sets, breaking my own rule of trying to stick with just the one bundle, but I love how it turned out. These are :
- Beauty of Tomorrow Cling stamp set
- Pretty Pumpkins Cling stamp set
- Beautiful Leaves dies
- Detailed Pumpkins dies
- Stitched so Sweetly dies
Please note that there is a 10% saving if the Beauty of Tomorrow and Beautiful Leaves dies are purchased together as a bundle, as is the case with the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set and Detailed Pumpkins dies.
The papers I used are :
- Card base Crumb cake cut at 5-3/4″ x 11-1/2″ (14.5 cm x 29 cm)
- Very Vanilla card stock for the inside of the card cut at 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ (14 cm x 14 cm)
- Gold & Rose 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Metallic paper
- Blackberry Beauty 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty DSP
- Rich Razzleberry card stock
- Old Olive card stock
and of course some ribbon which will be listed below in the supply list.
Method – Card front
First I blended the card front in Crumb Cake. Next I stamped the splatter pattern from Beauty of Tomorrow in Rich Razzleberry. The large leaf was die cut out of the Blackberry Beauty specialty DSP and adhered first.
I die cut the filigree pumpkin in Rose Gold metallic paper and adhered this to Rich Razzleberry card stock and fussy cut round it before adhering it to the card front.
The trio of pumpkins from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set were coloured in with stampin’ blends. To add dimension, I also die cut leaves from the Detailed Pumpkins die set and created my own tendrils for the pumpkins with fine strips of Old Olive card stock.
Lastly I stamped and fussy cut the sentiment with Rich Razzleberry ink on Crumb Cake card stock.
For the finishing touches, I die cut a scalloped border in Rich Razzleberry with the largest Stitched So Sweetly scalloped frame and adhered the gold ribbon on top, followed by the fussy cut sentiment.
Inside card
A simply stamped interior with the stamps from Pretty Pumpkin completed the card.
