Autumn card – Clean and simple

An autumn card which is clean and simple using the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera Pack.

Hello, Hello! There’s definitely a chill in the air and there’s ice on the car windscreen first thing in the morning. Happy Sunday! Brrrr! I’ve had to put an extra layer on!

With winter drawing in and the clocks put back, it’s definitely the time for stepping up autumnal cards! This was unbelievably quick and easy! I simply used the laser cut owl from the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera pack as a feature.

I used the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set for the greeting. Last month I made a square card using the Pretty Pumpkins for a blog hop, if you missed it click HERE to view it. They really are the prettiest pumpkins I’ve ever seen!

Dies

With each new catalogue, you forget the ones in the annual catalogue. I resurrected my Basic Border dies to die cut this pretty stitched scallop edge on the Blackberry Bliss card stock layer. Against a Basic White thick card stock base, it makes the colour pop.

Papers

I chose one of the sheets from the Blackberry Beauty specialty Designer Series pack with owls on to complement the laser cut owl.

Initially, I wanted to white emboss the greeting. First, I stamped the greeting in Versamark ink, but I smudged it and when I sprinkled the embossing powder on top, it looked a mess!

Remember the adage most people who craft say? “Never a mistake, just an embellishment opportunity”. Amen to that. So I simply stamped the greeting in Blackberry Bliss instead and made a banner to cover up the mess! If I hadn’t confessed you’d be none the wiser! lol!

Ta Ta for now! Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
