Today’s Hidden Pocket card with Sailing Home also incorporates the gorgeous New Horizons 6″x 6″ designer series papers. I have used the New Horizons papers in so many different ways, I’ve lost count!
The foreground on this sheet of New Horizons DSP lent itself to a nautical scene. Remember the Sailing Home stamp set and Smooth Sailing dies? It’s very satisfying to re-visit old stash which can be applied to new stuff, isn’t it? I always feel that’s definitely value for money!
This is the card closed so that it will fit in a C6 envelope for posting.
When you open it up it, you can see the entire scene. There is very little waste, as the patterned paper measures 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm). I simply cut it into 2″ strips and took off 1/2″ from the top for layering it on to the card. The extra piece on the end is Basic White and I used blending brushes to continue the sky, horizon and water before stamping the sentiment and imagery.
Hidden pocket
Are you wondering where the hidden pocket is? I cut a piece of card stock in Misty Moonlight, the same size as the card and punched a finger hole. Then I applied adhesive on the sides and bottom and adhered it to the back of the card base.
The tag was cut in Basic White and I punched a hole with the Detailed Trio punch so I could thread the ribbon through. To prompt the recipient to reveal the tag, I added the ribbon on the tag. Without it, the tag is concealed and you wouldn’t know that there was an additional message in the card.
