Mother’s Day card – Flowering Tulips

A Mother’s Day card with Flowering Tulips. Mother’s day has crept up on me when I suddenly realised I’d almost missed it in my forward planning! So a little re-shuffle of my schedule and am squeezing a Mother’s Day themed project today!

The Flowering Tulips photopolymer stamp and Tulips dies was covered in a previous post which you can see HERE. In that post, I covered how to build the tulips, but had yet to use the die with the row of tulips, so I’ll address that today.

Flowering Fields Designer Series Papaer

These are stunning papers with imagery of fields of tulips in vibrant colours. There are six double sided designs, two each of 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) sheets. On the reverse of the floral images, there is an assortment of ombre patterns with cloud like imagery, polka dots or a square grid.

For my card today, I selected the pattern with the cloud imagery in Calypso Coral.

  • Mat 2 front of card : Flowering Fields DSP 3-5/8″ x 5-3/8″ (9 cm x 13.5 cm)
  • Basic White card stock : 2 pieces 2″ x 6″ (5 cm x 15.2 cm) for die cutting 2 rows of tulips with the Row of Tulip die.
Inside Mother's Day card with Flowering Tulips bundle

You can decorate the inside of your card however you wish. I chose to use some leftover scrap of patterned paper. In fact it’s the reverse side of the clouds pattern. The tulip is a two step stamp technique – two stamps with different profiles and you need to use both images stamped on top of one another to complete the image. Once it had been stamped, I adhered it to the inside.

You could even leave it blank so you can add whatever sentiment you wish. Since this is a “Mother’s Day card” I stamped “Love you so much”. If this wasn’t specifically for a Mother’s Day card, I’d happily omit adding any sentiment so I can adapt the card to suit whatever the occasion when the need arises.
