Square card – Hybrid embossing folder

I made this square card with a hybrid embossing folder called Bouquet of Love hybrid embossing folder. It was also teamed up with the Here Together bundle.

My blog and social media accounts are apolitical and I very rarely air my views publicly. By the time this post publishes, it will be Day 10 since the Russian invasion in Ukraine and my heart goes out to the Ukranian people for all the suffering this has caused.

In empathy for their plight, I made this card using the colours in the Ukrainian flag. The card base is in Daffodil Delight and the embossed piece is in Pacific Point.

The leaves were die cut from the Vellum 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Layering Designs from the Artfully Composed Suite. I chose vellum which is opaque so that it would not detract from the flag’s colour palette. “Thinking of you” came from “On the Horizon” stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! recently introduced the Here Together Bundle – probably inspired by the hardships that we endured during the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. Who would’ve thought it would also be apt in these troubled times in the 21st century! Had not lessons already been learnt from World War 1 and 2 ?

The show of hands was fussy cut from the All Together 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper and then coloured in with the Natural Tones collection. There was a Pacific Point heart going spare from having die cut and embossed the front, so I put it to good use. Then I stamped and coloured another “heart” pair of hands and adhered this on top.
