Are you loving the new In-Colors I made with Fabulous Frames? These were the cards I sent my customers with their new 2022-23 Annual Catalogue. In an earlier post I told you I had my pre-order still stuck at Customs. Subsequently, I placed a second order for the Assortment pack of 12″x 12″ sheets of the 2022-24 In colors. They were temporarily out of stock and I had to keep checking until they became available again. Thankfully this second order arrived on 27 April. Talk about down to the wire as Launch Day is 3 May!
I only had the A4 packs of 24 sheets in Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party and Orchid Oasis during the pre-order period. There were only 4 sheets of each of 5 In-Colors in the 12 x 12 Assortment pack so I had to be creative on how best to use them. If I used them as mat layers or card bases, the paper wouldn’t go very far. So here’s what I did.

Mat layers
My card bases are in Basic White Thick. I cut mat layers from the 3 packs of A4 I had of Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis and Parakeet Party. With only 4 sheets each of Sweet Sorbet and Starry Sky, I decided to cut these into 1/2″ strips so it would go further. Half inch strips were also cut from the A4 packs as I had plenty of that. We were allowed to order 2 packs of A4 packs (24 sheets in each pack) in Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis and Parakeet Party so I had plenty to spare and cut my mat layers in these 3 colours.
I adhered an adhesive sheet to the back of Basic White card stock and butted the 1/2″ strips flush and back to back to create the background. Then I die cut the frame out of this with the Fabulous Frames dies.
Card front
Remember last year’s Sale-a-bration Level 2 product? If you spent £90 you could get the Summer Shadows Dies free and it coordinated with the Shaded Summer Stamp set . I chose the open floral dies from this die set to decorate the frame. They were die cut in basic white. I created two designs, one with the single floral die cut, and the other with the flower and leaves.
I stamped the “hello there” greeting from Nature’s Prints stamp set. This was stamped in the corresponding ink colour to the mat layer. The “hello there” greeting fits perfectly into the oval die from All That Dies set.
It’s surprising what you can do with limited supplies, but I’m pleased with how they turned out. It means there is a colour sample of each of the new In-Colours incorporated into a cohesive design.

Stampin’ Up! has a new Reward System beginning early April 2025.
