Slimline landscape card – Happiness Abounds

I am loving the slimline envelops so this is a Slimline landscape card using the Happiness Abounds stamp set. The Blossoming Happiness dies which coordinate with it have two dies which I’ve fallen in love with. It will be especially useful for the Scrapbookers among you!

Can you guess what I’m talking about? It’s a die to give you this look as though the page has been torn from a spiral notebook. The die isn’t as long as this, but I just married up the previous die cut holes with the die and extended it to die cut the 8 1/8″x 3″ Fresh Freesia layer. Actually the die is only 4-7/8″ long.

Did you see the other long slim card I made using this same stamp set? If not click HERE and let me know which one you prefer. I took part in a blog hop and the theme was “friendship”. This was in fact the original I made for that post, but I wanted to demonstrate how I die cut and embossed the longer card layer so I switched the projects around.

The Fresh Freesia layer was die cut first, then embossed with the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder. Do I had to extend the embossing on this card front too!

I also used the blank pre-cut Lovely Layers Vellum and adhered it to the card front so that it wouldn’t hide the embossing behind. This is a deceptively easy card to make.

I simply partially embossed the inside of the card and added a hint of colour with blending brushes so the white wouldn’t appear so white!

The roses were all die cut from the Hues of Happiness DSP. Some of the roses are only partial ones, but you can put them to good use as pictured above.
