Watercolour and emboss technique – Nature’s Prints

Today is Part 2 of Nature’s Prints with a watercolour and emboss technique. I don’t know why I don’t do this more often because I love how this turned out!

I used Stampin’ Up!’s Fluid 100 water colour paper. You can squeeze the lid of the ink pad in order to transfer the ink onto the lid and use that as your paint palette. However, I prefer to keep my ink pad lids clean so as an alternative I use a clear acrylic block to pick up the ink instead and use the block as my palette. Once you’ve finished, just rinse it out under a tap and it’s as good as new.

watercolour and emboss technique card with Nature's Prints

This card is minimal. Wet the watercolour paper first, pick up the ink from the ink pad to use as a palette. Apply ink to wet watercolour paper and see the ink spread. No two creations will be the same. Once the paint has dried, stamp the images in versamark and sprinkle white embossing powder over it. Then use a heat tool to set the embossing powder.

I stamped the sentiment on one of the blank vellum sheets from Lovely Layers vellum pack and die cut it with the label die from Natural Prints Dies. The sentiment was also embossed, but this time I used the clear embossing powder.

A little stamping on the inside of the card and a ribbon around the spine of the card completed it.

Here’s the video tutorial to make it easier for you to visualise.
