I made this delicate details treat box for the Jubilee weekend. In UK, we are celebrating Her Majesty, the Queen’s 70 year reign and she has granted a four day bank holiday weekend from 2 June – 5 June. Recently I featured these gorgeous Delicate Details Treat boxes which you can see in this post HERE.
To create the Union Jack I masked off the areas I needed to stay white. Then I used a blending brush to add the blue sections in Starry Sky. The cross sections have a wider red strip, so I used masking tape again to mask off the areas which had to remain white. I used copy paper to mask off the diagonal diagonal stripes.
I cut a tag from the Designer tags deis in Starry Sky and cut strips of Basic White for the cross sections. Then I cut narrow strips of Real Red card stock to adhere on top of the diagonal sections. Lastly I cut some slightly wider strips to adhere to the cross section to complete the Union Jack.
As a finishing touch, I silver embossed the numbers seven and zero from the Alphabest stamp set and fussy cut them. Adhered this to the centre of the Union Jack tag with dimensionals.
Lastly, I used Starry Sky metallic ribbon for the tag and box closure.
All over UK there will be street parties – our street have permission to close the road on Sunday 5th from noon until the party finishes. I’ve already put up a special Jubilee flag and have ordered some bunting. Of course there’ll be red, white and blue themed cupcake toppings. If you’re in the UK have a great Platinum Jubilee weekend and Congratulations to HM the Queen’s 70 year reign!
