Mirror image technique with Sweet Songbird

I’m using the mirror image technique with this Sweet Songbird stamp set. We have such busy lives and if you want to send a card with a personal touch which you’ve made yourself, this one is really easy and minimalist but still looks great.

Embossing folders are a great way to add texture to a background. The latest addition is the Painted Posies 3D embossing folder in the new 2022-2023 Annual catalogue on page 177. I turned the embossed layer on its side. The curvature of the stems of the flowers looked like branches of a tree in blossom so I could nestle the birds in it.

The stamp set is photopolymer so you can easily align the sentiments on your project. I also love the tiny stamp with a woodgrain effect and there is also a stamp which is just a straight line. You can use this stamp to hang the woodgrain sign from!

Being songbirds, the set also includes music notes and I used the stamp which is meant to be the bird’s beak to stamp little “hearts” on the inside of the card. I just rounded the tips of the beak off with a Stampin’ Write marker in Calypso Coral so it would appear more “heart-like”. What do you think? Does this get a thumbs up?
