It’s live – July to December 2022 mini

It’s live – say hello to the July-December 2022 mini! You don’t know how good it feels to be able to reveal the contents inside.

Another aspect in today’s news is that the second round of Sale-a-bration launches today too! It runs from 1 July – 31 August 2022 for two months. During this period, for every £45 purchase excluding shipping and handling, you get to earn free product.

There are two tiers of selection of free product you can choose from in the Sale-a-bration brochure. The first tier is for purchases of £45 and the other is £90 so you have different choices depending on which tier you qualify for. There are adorable hippos, hippo dies, a selection of papers and more of the same in the higher tier too.

For today’s project, I chose the Ringed with Nature bundle which you can find on page 62 of the new July-December 2022 mini. It has sentiments which cover “Thinking of you”, “Get well soon”, “Just for You”, “happy anniversary”, “love and warmth” and of course, “Merry Christmas” . The stamps appealed to me especially since it’s not just for Christmas. The variety of sentiments means you can use it throughout the year. The stamp set also includes a selection of leaves, floral images, berries, a pointsettia, a house, a stamp which doubles up as mushrooms, or if turned the other way, it could be acorns. Bravo – Stampin’ Up!

I earned the Rings of Love 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Designer Series Paper free and it coordinates with this set. The largest die fits the tree ring sheet and you can die cut 2 sets one way up, rotate the paper 180 degrees and reposition the die to cut the other 2 sets. So as not to waste the paper, you can also cut the partial ones too. For my card, I cut up clusters of colourful autumnal leaves and acorns to decorate the card front with. What do you think?

Colour palette

When choosing what colour theme you should go for in your project, a good guide is to look at the patterned papers which has been specifically designed for that particular stamp set or Suite. The colours used in the Rings of Love DSP pack are Crushed Curry, Evening Evergreen, Mint Macaron, Night of Navy, Parakeet Party, Petal Pink, Poppy Parade and Soft Suede.

I seldom make yellow cards, except at Easter time. More often, than not, I plump for a pale yellow so I tend to use So Saffron. Guided by the papers, I used Crushed Curry for the card base, and accent colour with Soft Suede. It tied in well with the oak leaf pattern in the papers too.
