First, a dry embossed card with the Perfect Pomegranate stamp set. This stamp set is in the July-August 2022 Sale-a-bration brochure. It is a Host set and is FREE subject to a qualifying workshop sales collective total. I only recently acquired this and am making as much haste as possible to show case it before Sale-a-bration ends on 31 August 2022! In fact, I made several!
Do you like pomegranate? I know they have health benefits as they are rich in antioxidants and flavonoids both of which are known to prevent free radicals from damaging your cells. I’ve heard that in some studies pomegranates show potential to be effective in preventing prostate, breast, lung, and colon cancers. There are two schools of thought – I also heard that parts of the pomegranate contain toxic substances and can be poisonous and that the seeds that are safe for consumption can also potentially clog up the digestive tract. Personally, I don’t like them so I steer clear! Anyway, back to the cards!
Card 1
I omitted adding a sentiment to this card so I could use it for any occasion when the emergency arose.
The card base was cut at 4-1/8″ x 11-3/4″ and folded in half. A Basic White mat layer was included to make the Cherry Cobbler Timeworn 3D embossed layer pop. I ran Whisper White kraft ink over the raised bits highlight it.
The stamped images were fussy cut. I adhered the leaves directly onto the scalloped mat layer which is from the Scalloped Contours Dies. To add dimension, I popped the pomegranate on dimensionals and used Crystal effects applied to the seeds inside the pomegranate to add texture.
For the inside of the card I used a masking technique so that I could stamp the flower over the top to make it appear as though it’s behind the leaves.
Card 2
The card base is Basic White Thick. I die cut a mat layer in Cherry Cobbler with the large Scalloped Contour die.
I cut a smaller piece of Basic White to fit inside the mat layer and then stamped floral images and added the “thank you” sentiment from “Hello Beautiful”.
Card 3
I used the other half of the 4-1/8″ x 11-3/4″ of A4 for card 1 to make card 3. Waste not, want not! This time I dry embossed the background with the new Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder. I ran Whisper White kraft ink over the embossed areas to make it pop. Then die cut the label with the Seasonal labels dies and also added some gold element to the underside before adhering it to the card front.
Some elegant trim was added before being adhered to the front of the card.
Card 4
I used Basic White thick card stock in land scape, added a plain mat layer in Cherry cobbler and then topped with an Spots and Stripes embossed piece on the front.
All the images were stamped on a scrap piece of basic white card stock, then fussy cuts before being adhered to the card front.
The large pomegranate had a generous amount of Crystal Effects added and allowed to dry for several hours. I also coloured in the rhinestones with Cherry Cobbler stampin blends.
Which is your favourite? I think mine is the Timeworn embossed piece with the ribbon. Anyway I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the different cards and it’s sparked your imagination! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
