Just for a change some gift packaging using the Envelope Treat Boxes from Stampin’ Up! The envelope treat boxes come in a pack of 10 with 20 gold stickers. The boxes are also food safe.
The first box I assembled looked a little plain in just white, so I decided to decorate the box. It’s a funny shape as you’ll see from the video tutorial when laid out flat. If you cut a piece to follow the original shape of the box when it’s laid out flat, it would take up too much paper from a 12″x 12″ piece. I tried to be economical and cut it from a 6″x 12″ (15.2 cm x 30.5 cm) piece of patterned paper. In a class scenario, a kit would contain either 6″x 12″ sheets or half a pack of DSP, or 6″x 6″. There wasn’t enough to cover the whole box with a 6″x 6″ sheet, so I made it with a 6″ x 12″ one instead.
I chose the papers from Gingham Cottage 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) designer series pack because there are 48 sheets in the pack, 2 each of 12 double sided designs.
When I created this, I didn’t realise that the Blushing Bride metallic ribbon had retired. So you can substitute the ribbon with one that is current so long as it is 3/8″ or 1 cm wide. In the supply list I’ve listed the 3/8″ gold shimmer ribbon in lieu of the Blushing Bride metallic ribbon I originally used.
My first attempt
This black and white Cottage Gingham envelope treat box was my first attempt and I used it without a ribbon. On the short sides, the card stock is cut like a hook which interlocks. On the long side, there are two triangles to form the envelope.
There is a slot on the bottom triangle so that you can tuck the top triangular flap into it. The gold stickers are provided to seal the closure to hold it closed securely.
