Welcome to Episode 1 of 6 – a Halloween treat bag with Cottage Wreaths in my 6 week Countdown to Halloween Series. Autumn is just round the corner and it’s hard to believe that we’re at the tail end of September! That can only mean one thing – the countdown to Halloween and also in the same week, a 12 week countdown to Christmas too which starts this Friday!
So my first project is using Stampin’ Up!’s Peekaboo Treat bag to make a Halloween Treat bag. I’m also revisiting the Cottage Wreaths bundle and the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Papers. I wanted to show the versatility of this stamp set as well as the patterned papers in that same Suite.
The Cottage Wreaths Bundle has a spider and “Boo” sentiment which I’ve used to embellish the treat bag with. I used the Pearlized Enamels Basics to add dimension to the spiders as well as for the berries on the wreath. When using the Pearlized Enamels Basics you have to factor in drying time so that the medium can harden. It smudges easily so if you want to add these touches, do it last.
For the finishing touch I used the Black Bakers twin from the Bakers Twine Essentials Basics pack. The Peekaboo bags are food safe, so I filled it with candy corn.
