Thank you card – Simply Succulent

Here’s a thank you card with Simply Succulent. I’m ashamed to say I’ve had this stamp set and the Potted Succulent dies for over a year and it has yet to see ink! Well, I finally broke the seal and here it is at last!

It’s a clean and relatively simple card. I embossed a piece of Soft Succulent card stock with the Fern 3D embossing folder (not pictured) as a background . Then I stamped all the pots and succulents on a scrap of Basic White in Tuxedo black memento ink before colouring them.

I didn’t realise that there was a Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blend combo, so I actually coloured mine by picking up ink from the Cajun Craze ink pad with an acrylic block to use as a palette. Then I used a water painter to colour the pots. Again, these items haven’t been included in the photograph but is included in the list of supplies so you have the option to use either the Stampin’ Blends for a smoother finish, or the ink pad and painter for a more grungy look.

Card details

  1. I stamped all the floral images and pots in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and die cut them with the Potted Succulent dies.
  2. Using a water painter, I water coloured the pots in Cajun Craze.
  3. The floral images were coloured in with Soft Succulent and Cherry Cobbler combos.
  4. Extra succulents were die cut from the Potted Succulent Dies set in Soft Succulent and added to the two of the pots.
  5. In the third pot, I adhered the largest group of succulents with dimensionals.
  6. Lastly I stamped the sentiment, trimmed a flag end on one end and adhered it to the front of the card on the upper right corner.

Voila – quick and easy card!
