How to use die cuts with Pretty Birds bundle

Oh my goodness – it’s Sunday again so today I’m going to show you how to use die cuts with Pretty Birds Bundle to create a background.

You can use dies to create a background by cutting multiples of them in the same colour as your card base. This creates an embossed look but without the embossing. Not all dies lends itself to this technique, but in the Pretty Birds bundle with the Birdhouse dies, the bird cage certainly does. It’s barely visible in this photo, but I highlighted the bird cage with the Wink of Stella Glitter brush as well as the bow.

The Fabulous Frames dies also came into play. I die cut about five oval frames in Tahitian Tide, stacked and glued them together so that I could insert and inset the oval stamped image of the budgies inside. Using this method, it eliminates the need for dimensionals and gives it a much neater finish.

This card came together so quickly – I simply stamped the sentiment from Sweet Songbirds on Tahitian Tide card stock and die cut it with one of the label dies from Fabulous Frames and finished it off with the Pearls basic jewels.

Short and sweet today – thanks for visiting!
