Well October just flew by and now we’re into autumn so today I have an autumnal card with Nuts about Squirrels! I resisted the temptation to get this, but in the end, they were just too cute to ignore! We have squirrels who are regular visitors and they steal our hazelnuts without fail every year!
My best investment ever is this set of Picture This dies. It’s a stand alone die set with two dies – one with several circles in different sizes and the one I’ve used today with the rectangles. The cut outs can then be used on another project as labels so it’s a win, win in my book!

Card details
So here’s how I made the card.
- Card base – ½ A4 sheet in Basic White Thick folded in half. In Europe this meaasures 5 ⅞” x 8 ¼ “ (14.5 cm x 21 cm).
- Mossy Meadow mat layer 3 ⅝” x 5 ⅝” (10 cm x 14 cm) and die cut with rectangle window Picture This die.
- Emboss the die cut Mossy Meadow layer with the Timber 3D embossing folder.
- Cut 2 pieces Basic White 3 ¾” x 5 ½” (9.5 cm x 13.5 cm) – use one for card front and one for inside card.
- Place die cut Picture This Mossy Meadow piece and place on top of one of the Basic white pieces. Lightly trace around the apertures to ascertain where you need to stamp.
- Stamp the branches, leaves in each window using a variety of inks. Branches in Early Espresso, leaves in Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze. Use stamp off technique for paler colours of greens and oranges.
- On scrap piece of Basic White, stamp the squirrels with the two-step stamping technique. There is an outline stamp, and a solid stamp for each squirrel. Tip – it’s easier to stamp the solid image first, followed by the linear image. Also stamp some extra leaves. Fussy cut all the images.
- Adhere fussy cut images to Picture This Mossy Meadow piece as pictured.
- Stamp and adhere remaining Basic White piece to inside of card.
