Clean and Simple Father’s Day card

Here’s a clean and simple Father’s Day card using the He’s All That stamp set and the new Nested Essentials dies. I also used the Alphabest photopolymer stamps to spell “dad” and punched it out with the Best Label punch.

There are dies to coordinate with the He’s All That stamp set, but I didn’t use them this time because I wanted to show you how you could use nested dies as a feature on your card front in lieu of patterned paper.

In the absence of the then coordinating patterned paper which went with this stamp set and dies last year, you can stamp each rectangle using the stamps in the set. Did you know that the stamp with the image of a car and “Classic” written under it also had “Happy birthday” written above it? I simply inked up the stamp and used a shammy to remove the ink on the “Happy birthday” sentiment so only the car and “Classic” was visible.

Another trick is to apply Tombow adhesive to the back of your rectangles and allow it to dry. When dry, the glue is transparent and you will be able to reposition the rectangles as you wish. Sometimes you might not get the spacing right and you need to position the pieces so this is an ideal solution.

I die cut a Basic White label with the smallest of the elongated hexagonal shape and stamped “Happy Father’s Day” greeting on it applying the same principle to make it re-positionable. The Basic White mat layer for the inside of the card measures 3 ¾” x 5 ½” and I added a hint of Copper Clay ink with a blending brush as a backdrop for the sentiment layer.
