Welcome to the first episode in my Crafting with You Series which is a fabulous stamp set with coordinating dies. I’m starting off with a simply stamped card which has a smooshed background. This technique requires adding water to the block. Sadly, Stampin’ Up! is no longer carrying the Shimmery White card stock which is the medium I usually use when it involves water. In lieu of that, I’m using Basic White Thick card stock.

Inside card
I simply stamped the floral image for the inside of the card. To achieve the two-tone effect, ink the stamp in Lemon Lolly first, then use a baby wipe or shammy to remove the ink on the leaves. Then use the Stampin’ Write Marker Pen in Lost Lagoon to ink up the leaves, huff on it to re-moisten the stamp, then stamp. Use the marker to add the flower centres.

Smooshed background technique
You need an acrylic block, a water spritzer and a marker pen or an ink pad and card stock. You need a water based ink, so you cannot use alcohol markers like the Stampin’ Blends for this technique. In my project today, I used a Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Write marker to scribble ink on an “E” block. Then you spritz the block with water about 4″-6″ away to create a fine mist. You don’t want to get the block too wet especially if you’re using Basic White Thick card stock. Once the whole block has been “misted”, place card stock over the block and rub your hand over it until the ink has been absorbed.
Remove card stock and allow to dry before stamping on it or applying your other elements.

Stampin’ Up! has a new Reward System beginning early April 2025. Customers now must have an online account and need to opt in to earn 10% of their qualifying commissionable product purchases to redeem as Stampin’ Rewards on future orders. A qualifying purchase must meet the minimum threshold requirement on commissionable products. Be aware that Stampin’ Rewards have an expiration date. They need not be redeemed all at once. Stampin’ Up!’s system tracks them and the rewards expiring first will be used first when redeemed. You can check the Rewards Dashboard to help you keep track of Rewards Expiration Date Information. Please note the new Stampin’ Reward System cannot use Rewards toward the purchase of a Starter Kit as the Starter Kit has non-commissionable items in it. The Host Code will become obsolete.
