Good day everyone – wishing all the Dads out there and remembering Dads who are no longer with us a very Happy Father’s Day.
Our Dad is our unsung hero – they light the way to make us true, brave and strong and I thought that Stampin’ Up!’s Lighting the Way encapsulated that so well.

Blending Technique
Blending colour with blending brushes is a great technique. I used blending brushes to apply the “glow” of the lamp in Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight then blended the rest of the card with Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky. I white embossed the trail of fireflies.
How I coloured the fireflies
Three fireflies were die from scraps of Basic White card stock, and I coloured the legs and top half with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker, the lower half in Daffodil Delight and the wings in the light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend. Then I used the Wink of Stella pen and tapped it over the page for flecks of “light” and also coloured the wings of the fireflies with it.
Lantern
The lantern die has some delicate detail and it would be difficult to attach dimensionals to it. I attached a 2″ (5 cm) strip of the Silver Foil 12″x 12″ Specialty Foil papers in mirrored charcoal to a foam adhesive sheet and die cut the lantern. Before adhering it to the project, I used a basic gray stampin’ write marker and used the brush tip to run along the sides of the foam adhesive to take away the stark white.
The “Wishing you a happy Father’s Day” greeting is from He’s All That which I stamped on Daffodil Delight card stock in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Inside card
For the inside of the card, I used three different size circle stamps to create a bokeh effect. By stamping without re-inking the stamp, I was able to get a variety of shades of Daffodil Delight.
Enjoy some special time with your menfolk today. Have a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by.
