Today’s sneak peek features the One Horse Open Sleigh 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Papers which is a new Online Exclulsive available from 6 July 2023.
I confess, I’m not a “Christmas in July” girl and cannot bring myself to create anything remotely to do with Christmas in the middle of June! Demonstrators get to pre-order product in advance so we can prep before 6 July when these Online Exclusives become available.
There’s no doubt the papers are gorgeous, depicting winter scenes. The ones I picked to feature in my double z-fold card is a winter woodland and I paired it with the Zany Zoo Bundle to create a birthday card. The little racoon holding that bunch of balloons and the skunk with the bird on his head is Soooo stinkin’ cute! These woodland creatures tie in beautifully with the deer in the DSP, don’t you think?
Card base
- Card base Pecan Pie : 4 ⅛” x 11” (10.5 cm x 28 cm).
- Orient Pecan Pie card stock with long side at the top and score at 2 ¾” and 5 ½” (7 cm and 14 cm)
- Burnish score lines.
DSP Card base
- One Horse Open Sleigh DSPC Pattern 1 : 2 pieces cut at 2 ⅝ “ x 4″ (6.5 cm x 10.2 cm)
- Pattern 2 One Horse Open Sleigh DSP : cut 1 piece at 5 ⅜” x 4″ (13.5 x 10.2 cm)
Double z-fold mechanism
- Cut double z-mechanism Early Espresso : 1 ⅛” x 11″ (3 cm x 28 cm)
- Orient Early Espresso with long side at the top and repeat scoring at 2 ¾” and 5 ½” (7 cm and 14 cm).
- Burnish score lines.
DSP for Double z-fold mechanism
- Cut 2 pieces pattern 1 DSP at 1″ x 2 ⅝ “ (2.5 cm x 6.5 cm)
- Basic White card stock : 1″ x 5 ⅜” (2.5 cm x 13.5 cm)
Card Assembly
- Adhere Card Base Pattern 1 to the 2 small panels of the card base.
- Pattern 2 DSP for card base : adhere to large panel.
- Flip Early Espresso Double z-fold mechanism over so that the longer section is on the left.
- Apply adhesive to the left half of longer section and align with bottom of DSP and adhere to card base.
- Close card so that the double z-fold mechanism is aligned with card base. Apply adhesive on the last section and adhere to card base.
- Adhere DSP for double z-fold mechanism to the two smaller panels.
- Stamp sentiment on Basic White double z-fold mechanism piece, music notes, and confetti and colour as desired.
- Select Racoon and Skunk to stamp in Tuxedo Black memento ink on scrap of Basic White card stock.
- Colour as desired and die cut.
- Attach dimensionals to the back and adhere racoon on left, and the skunk on the right of the double z-fold mechanism to complete card.
