In episode 7 of 12 in my 12 week Christmas Countdown Series I’m going to show you how you can create 6 stunning Night Divine cards with just a single sheet of 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Designer Series Paper.
Getting the most out of your paper
First cut the 12″ x 12″ piece into 3 strips measuring 4″x 12″ (10.2 cm x 30.5 cm). Depending on which part of the pattern on the paper you want to keep, trim each piece so that it measures 4″ x 5 ½” to use as a mat layer for your card bases.
You can vary the colour of your card bases to coordinate with the colours in your patterned paper for a bit of variety. I used a combination of Basic White Thick, Crumb Cake, Boho Blue and Night of Navy.
I’ve laid out the cards in the sequence I cut the papers from O Holy Night DSP. The Night Divine Dies with the Nativity Scene and the animals were perfect for making these cards. For the embossed cards, you can vary the embossing powders you use in clear, gold or silver for a different look.
Inside card
- Nativity scene – stamp “O Holy Night” and a cluster of stars in ink of your choice
- Desert scene – Embossed with clear or metallic embossing powders of your choice
