Upside down Chocolate Bomb box

Today is the final episode in my 12 Week Christmas Countdown Series featuring an Upside down Chocolate Bomb box. I found these Hot Chocolate Bomb treats and wondered how I’d dress them up. You could use them as Teacher’s gifts, or a stocking filler or even as a table favour.

Creating the inner Garden Green box

There aren’t any measurements – I simply cut a 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) piece the same height as the treat and wrapped it round the box, and also making an allowance for the depth of the box for the treat, leaving the surplus end as a tab to join the ends together. This fits snugly over the treat and does not have a lid.

Outer Balmy Blue box

For the outer box section, I made an allowance for the box base, then shortened the height of the box so that it would expose the inner Garden Green box but this time I only wrapped it round the front and side and added a  ½” (1.5 cm) for the tab so you could join the separate pieces together. In my prototype, using a single A4 sheet was not long enough, so this was my work-around solution.

Mat layers

Depending on the shape of your box cut your mat layers accordingly. In my sample, the front and back of the box is wider than the sides. Just reduce your mat layers ¼” (0.5 cm) smaller for the sides and another ¼” (0.5 cm) smaller than the first mat layer for the patterned paper.
