Easy Square card for Dad

Easy square card for Dad. I used the Friends for Life Bundle and Best Family Ever stamp set. You’ll find the Friends for Life Bundle on page 43 and the Best Family Ever on page 85 of the 2024-25 Annual Catalogue.

The 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Full of Life Designer Series pack is bright and cheerful. With summer upon us, it’s a perfect choice. The inspiration for this card came from the catalogue itself. I chose Blueberry Bushel for my card base and also used the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Card details

  1. Card base : Blueberry Bushel cut at 5 ¼” x 10 ½” (13.5 x 27 cm) and folded in half
  2. Berry Burst, Old Olive & White 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Glimmer Specialty DSP : cut 5″ x 5″ (13 x 13 cm). On trimmer align each side at ¼” (0.5 cm) and cut a frame. Reserve inside for another project.
  3. Die cut the leaf, one from Berry Burst, and the other from White glimmer paper.
  4. Full of Life 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) DSP – trim the radiating pattern paper on two adjacent sides so that the piece measures 4 ⅞” x 4 ⅞”  (12.5 cm x 12.5 cm).
  5. Adhere the Full of Life piece to the glimmer frame and attach frame to card base with adhesive of your choice. I used tear and tape because it isn’t as messy.

Circle topper

  1. Die cut the reverse side of Full of Life DSP with paint stripe die from Friends for Life Dies
  2. Stamp “best ever Dad” in Blueberry Bushel ink on Basic White card stock.
  3. Use the third smallest circle die from Stylish Shapes Dies to die cut sentiment.
  4. Arrange and adhere leaf elements as shown in photo
  5. Adhere paint stripe to back of circle, then add dimensionals and adhere on top of the leaves.

Inside card

inside blueberry bushel square dad card with friends for life
  1. Cut a Basic White piece for inside the card 5″x 5″ (13 cm x 13 cm)
  2. Ink up paint stripe from Friends for Life photopolymer stamp set in Berry Burst and stamp off before stamping bottom right of inside of card.
  3. Stamp the hearts with Blueberry Bushel ink over the top of paint stripe in first generation ink.

I deliberately didn’t put “Happy Father’s Day” inside so you can pen your own sentiment and if you’ve already made a Father’s Day card, you have the option to use this card design for a birthday or other occasion. You can use the same layout and switch the sentiment for something else too.
