How to create a monotone card

How to create a monotone card. Stampin’ Up! is known for its colour co-ordination. There are 10 colours in each colour family – Subtles, Regals, Brights and Neutrals. In addition there are 10 In Colours, 5 of which constantly get refreshed every two years. Every colour in each family co-ordinates within the family which makes it easy to work with. In addition to the inks, Stampin’ Up! supplies card stock, ribbon, patterned paper, embellishments which coordinate as well.

In the new 2024-25 Annual Catalogue there is a section on Color Theory so you can mix and match the colours from all the families if you so desire. In today’s project, however, I’m making a monotone card which means the card base, the patterned paper, ink and ribbon are all in the same colour.

My card base is one of the new In-Colours : Petunia Pop. The patterned papers or DSP (designer series paper) is from the 2024-26 In Color 6″x 6″ DSP pack. You can see how beautifully coordinated everything is. I cut three 1″ x 5″ (2.5 cm x 12.7 cm) pieces of DSP. In previous posts I’ve featured the Spotlight on Nature petal-like and dot-dash borders on the dies. This is the third border design in the set with radiating stitches. Which do you like best?

Inside card

I adhered the remnants of the DSP strips from the front of the card to the inside bottom of the card. Waste not, want not, right?
