Happy Halloween! Are you trick and treating tonight? Do you go all out with decorating, costumes and Halloween goodies? My grandchildren are past that now but I still make cards and treat boxes for the occasion. As you know, Stampin’ Up! are expanding their scrapbooking product line so I thought I would showcase one of their newest Halloween Memories Scrapbook Workshop Kits.
The kit includes supplies to create three predesigned two-page scrapbook spreads. Each page is 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm), allowing lots of space for photos and journalling. It has a classic Halloween colour palette plus images. Best of all, you’ll have so much fun swapping out the included photo placeholders for your own photographed memories. The beauty about the kit is that you can follow a “choreographed” experience or do your own thing and tweak the design. Incidentally there were some errors in the instruction sheet included in the kit, so Stampin’ Up! has a corrected pdf which is available to download HERE .
If you’re anything like me, I find that at scrapbooking crops I’m so busy chatting and admiring other people’s pages, I get very little done – so having a kit will help me focus more!
Project 1 – left and right pages
Tips
The instructions are easy to follow – it even has a cutting diagram on which orientation to cut the paper, and they all have references. Project 1 will have the number 1 prefix followed by a letter of the alphabet and the size, similarly for Project 2 and Project 3. Have post-it notes available to label each piece you cut and a folder or bag for each project so you can sort them and separate them into each project pile. This is how I organised some of my cut pieces and I also drew an arrow as to which direction the DSP should face.
Project 2 – left and right pages
Project 3 – left and right page
For the most part, I followed the instructions but tweaked some elements here and there. Most of all – have fun! I’m so glad Stampin’ Up! have brought out these workshop kits. The photo placeholders are a brilliant idea. It means you can go ahead and create your scrapbook pages and add the photos later. Choosing the right photos always holds me back. Also, the various page spreads can be used time and again – keep the instructions so you can use them again with different papers and different occasions!
I had lots left over to do more pages, or even use them to make cards with.
