New – Otterly Adorable Suite Collection

Otterly Adorable Suite Collection. This is one of the many new online exclusives being released on 4 November which is tomorrow. I love watching otters whether it is on some nature program or in real life. Sadly not in their natural habit, but in a zoo or nature reserve.

Otterly Amazing Dies

One of the dies in the Otterly Amazing die set cuts slots in the paper so you can partially insert the otter inside the slot so that it appears partially submerged.

My version of Stampin’ Up!’s sample

I took my inspiration from the sample Stampin’ Up! provided and tweaked it a little to make it my own, so here’s my version.

Incidentallly, there are also four dies which will die cut the otters from 2 sheets of the Otterly Adorable 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Designer Series Paper pack. If you don’t wish to have the dies, the images can just as easily be fussy cut. The dies corresponds with the stamp set so you can stamp your own and colour them with whatever medium you wish.

Cutting guide

  1. Pool Party Card base : 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm) folded in half
  2. Crumb Cake Mat layer #1 front and inside of card : cut 2 pieces 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (10 cm x 14 cm)
  3. Mat layer #2 front of card : Otterly Adorable DSP cut at 3 ¾” x 5 ⅜” (9.5 cm x 13.5 cm)
  4. Mat layer #3 inside card : Basic White 3 ¾” x 5 ⅜” (9.5 cm x 13.5 cm)
  5. Die cut the log in Crumb Cake.
  6. Scraps of Old Olive and Garden Green card stock to die cut leaves.
  7. Calypso Coral scrap to die cut the shoal of fishes
  8. Use the boulder dies to die cut some boulders from one of the DSP sheets

Assembly instructions

  1. Adhere Crumb Cake mat layers to front and inside of Pool Party card base leaving an even border on all four sides.
  2. Die cut the corresponding images of the otters from the DSP and set aside.
  3. Next use the slot die to cut the slots in Mat DSP layer #2. Insert respective otters into slots before adhering to the Crumb Cake Mat layer # 1 leaving an even border on all 4 sides.
  4. Arrange and adhere the fishes as pictured.
  5. Adhere the pair of otters with dimensionals so you can tuck in the leaves behind the otters sitting on the log.
  6. As a finishing touch, add the Riverside Irregular pearls.

Inside card

  1. Use a blending brush to apply Pool Party colour to bottom half of Basic White layer.
  2. Stamp the shoal of fish in Calypso Coral, the baby seal, seaweed in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the bubbles in Pool Party.
