White Christmas theme
The theme as you’ve probably guessed from the title for November’s blog hop is all about a White Christmas. As usual, I found it hard to decide which stamp set to use and in the end I chose Yuletide Village on page 56 of the September – December 2024 mini. I’d just received the latest November kit called Layered Landscapes Kit and it sparked an idea.
The Tech 4 Stampers is a monthly subscription group run by Louise Sims. She mentors and enables members to understand IT jargon and equips them with a fountain of Technical knowledge to build or manage their own websites. It takes the mystery out of “tech” and I’ve certainly grown in confidence thanks to her expertise, patience and guidance. Not only that, I’ve met and made new friends with my fellow “Techs” and love the camaraderie within the group.
Yuletide Village
This stamp set has a church and a variety of homes to create a village scene. I thought it would compliment the new November Kit called Layered Landscapes. Here’s how I adapted it to create a white Christmas scene.
How I altered the Kit scene
- I inked and stamped the Falling Snow background stamp with Versamark ink on all the layers and white embossed it.
- The various buildings in the Yuletide Village stamp set were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Basic White card stock.
- Colour the buildings with a variety of Stampin’ Blend combos in Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Lemon Lolly, Real Red, Old Olive and Pecan Pie.
- Fussy cut each building and insert in between the layers with mini dimensionals.
- Assemble the kit scene per pictorial instructions in the kit and voila – a home decor piece in a jiffy!

In the bottom right corner is the snow-capped mountain scene in its original state before I altered it.
The picture on the right shows the kit’s contents which include adhesive strips, glue dots and all the other materials you need to create 4 landscape pictures. This kit is such terrific value because the picture frames are fairly sturdy and well constructed. You also have the option to hang it on the wall, or just stand it on a table.
