Christmas Gift wallet. These days, my family prefer to have money which they can put toward a big ticket item and I always need money wallets. Making your own is so much more personal. I used the online exclusive Filled with Cheer stamp set, Snowman Hugs from the September-December 24 Mini (page 54), the Snowy Wonder Bundle and the Christmas Labels Bundle.
Cutting guide
- Envelop base : Coloured card stock 8 ¼” x 8 ¾” (21 cm x 23 cm)
- On the short side score at each side at ⅜” (1 cm).
- With long side on top, score at 2″, 6″ (5 cm and 15.2 cm)
- Orient short side on top with the 2″ panel uppermost and mark centre point at 4 ⅛” (10.5 cm). This is a guide for positioning a 1″ circle punch to punch out a finger hole.
Mat layers
- Cut DSP for the bottom panel : 1 ¾” x 7 ¼” (4.5 cm x 18.5 cm) and adhere to bottom front of wallet.
- Flip card stock over so that you can punch out a finger hole for the DSP.
- Basic White or DSP for top flap closure : 2 ½” x 7 ¼” (6.5 cm x 18.5 cm) i.e., Basic White if you intend on stamping but use DSP if you do not.
- Inside wallet : Basic White 3 ¾” x 7 ¼” (9.5 cm x 18.5 cm). Stamp toward the top half because the pocket once assembled will partially cover the stamping.
Die cut Label Closure
- Scraps of Basic White and coloured card stock for the various labels.
- Stamp the labels. Die cut stamped label but also die cut an extra one in the wallet’s base colour.
- Stack stamped label on top of coloured one and adhere together to give it extra strength.
- Put a double stack of dimensionals at bottom of label. If necessary, add a second row of double stack dimensionals depending on height of label but ensure that top half is free so that you can tuck the top flap into the top half of the label in order to close it.
