Take a bow bundle. Are you all fingers and thumbs when you try to dress your presents? If you are, then Take a Bow bundle is the answer to your prayers! This bundle takes the hassle out of making your own bows and I guarantee you will never need to buy a shop bought one ever again. This bundle is definitely one to hang on to once you’ve invested in it!
Besides the recommended way to create the standard bow, you can think outside the box and use it to die cut labels or create a different bow!
Die Cutting
To make a standard bow die cut two sheets of 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) DSP which will yield 3 pairs of large, 2 pairs of medium and 1 pair of smallest strips.
Assembling bow
- Adhere the largest pairs for the outermost ring and set aside.
- Then adhere the medium pairs together as pictured above.
- Use mini pegs or sewing clips to help keep the pieces in shape whilst the adhesive is bonding.
Finishing the bow
- Adhere each of the largest pairs into a “star” like shape as shown on the left above.
- Medium pair adhered in a cross formation.
- In picture 2 on the right, nestle the medium strips into the larger one and adhere as pictured above.
- Lastly attach the cylindrical piece into the centre as illustrated below to complete bow.
Here are some other ways to make a bow.
Straight bow
- Take one of the longest pieces and cut a flag tail on either end.
- Adhere the largest loop together then adhere on either side of the flag tail piece ensuring tails are visible.
- Repeat for the pair of medium pieces on top.
- Once adhere, cut a small diagonal toward the centre from above and below to make that section a little narrower and more easy to handle.
- Cut the smallest strip in half to wrap around centre of bow.
Two-tone bow with tail
- Repeat steps 2 – 4 above except alternate the pattern paper.
- Apply tear n’ tape to ½” and roll it into a tube.
- Cut the remaining long strip in half and trim and attach to back of bow for the tails.
