Simple colouring – Mixed Labels. Mixed labels is the other bundle in the new Online Exclusive released in January 2025 called Mixed Media Florals Suite. This Suite has two bundles. In my previous post which you can see HERE I’d used the Mixed Florals Bundle which only consists of images, so I thought I’d follow on by using the Mixed Labels bundle today.
How to make the card
Today’s card is quick and simple. In the Suite one of the sheets of Mixed Media Florals 12″x 12″(30.5 x 30.5 cm) Designer Series Paper (DSP) is simply black and white. I used Lemon Lolly, Petal Pink, Blueberry Bushel and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to colour in the images.
Cutting guide
- Card Base : Petal Pink 4 ⅛” x 11 ½” (10.5 cm x 29 cm) folded in half.
- Blueberry Bushel card front mat layer : 5 ⅛” x 3 ½” (13 cm x 9 cm)
- Mixed Media Florals DSP : 5″ x 3 ⅜” (12.5 cm x 8.5 cm)
- Inside card Basic White layer : 5 ⅜” x 3 ¾” (13.5 cm x 9.5 cm)
Tips
- You can cut the label and hashed element from the Blueberry Bushel mat layer if you wish to economise on card stock. Once you add the DSP layer on top, it will cover up the apertures.
- If you don’t have ribbon to match, simply use card stock in lieu of ribbon
- By cutting a label in half, you can “stretch” the label to make it look bigger as a mat layer as pictured above.
Die cutting, extras and assembly
- Largest Mixed Label die – Die cut 1 Blueberry Bushel label and 1 Petal Pink Label.
- Cut the Petal Pink layer in half as pictured.
- Cut a Petal Pink strip ½” x 5″ (1.3 cm x 12.5 cm) . Adhere the two halves to Petal Pink strip using the Blueberry Bushel label as a guide for placement of the two halves.
- Cut a Blueberry Bushel strip ¼” x 5″ (0.5 cm x 12.5 cm).
- Flip split Petal Pink label and strip over so that the right side is face up and adhere Blueberry Bushel strip centred on Petal Pink strip as pictured then adhere to coloured in DSP mat layer.
- Adhere DSP mat layer to Blueberry Bushel mat layer then adhere to card base leaving an even border on all 4 sides.
- Stamp sentiment in Versamark on Blueberry Bushel Label, white emboss, apply dimensionals on back and adhere to Petal Pink label.
Inside card
- Adhere Basic White layer to inside of card.
- Apply adhesive to Blueberry Bushel hashed die cut piece and adhere on the left of Basic White mat layer.
- Stamp floral image in Tuxedo Black Memento.
- Colour in the image with Stampin’ Blends in Petal Pink and Granny Apple Green.
Finishing Touches
Adhere a trio of Purple Adhesive Backed sequins (Free with a qualifying purchase of £55 during Sale-a-bration period from 7 Jan – 28 February 2025) on the Blueberry Label on front of card.
