Masking technique Valentine card

Masking technique Valentine card. I wanted to show you that the Everyday You & Me bundle in the January 2025 Digital Scrapbooking Brochure isn’t just for scrapbooking. You can use it to make cards too. Masking is a great technique for creating a faux layer and is great for posting as it lies flat and gives the illusion that it is another layer without the bulk.

Masking technique

Did you know that Stampin’ Up! Masking Paper is available in its product line? My tip for using this is to remove the stickiness first by sticking it to your clothing several times to reduce stickiness to ensure it doesn’t damage your project when you remove the Masking paper from it. The advantage of using the Stampin’ Up! masking paper is that it measures * 5″ x 7″ (12.7 x 17.8 cm) so it covers a larger area.

If you mask an image before stamping another image, it will give the appearance of one image in front of another. Masking paper is a way of protecting an area from absorbing ink when stamping of blending.

In today’s project, the simplest form of masking is to create a straight line or a frame. I masked the middle of the card and stamped a border on either side so I could adhere “VALENTINE” in the middle.
