Second Altered kit card. In the second blogpost of the Altered kit card series using the So Much to Celebrate kit I’m turning my attention to the gold foiled scripted congratulations kit card to alter. We made 5 cards with the long slim Congratulations card which you can see HERE.
So Much To Celebrate Kit
Here are the original card kit designs which I followed per kit instructions.
Materials used
Cut several floral elements with the extra die elements from Country Flower dies in Basic White. Colour these with Stampin’ Blends in Petal Pink, Old Olive, Balmy Blue and Pumpkin Pie. Set aside.
First altered card
Cut the kit card into 2 halves so that you have 2 card fronts and 2 backs. Share the floral elements between each of the extra cards.
- Basic White Thick : Cut 2 card bases 4 ¼” x 11″ (10.8 cm x 28 cm) long side score at 5 ½” (14 cm).
- Adhere each card front to each respective Basic White card base.
- Apply dimensionals on the back of the gold foiled scripted congratulations sentiment and adhere to card front above the gold foiled lines.
- Put dimensionals to the largest cluster of flowers and adhere to centre as pictured.
- Arrange Country flowers extra die cut coloured elements as shown i.e., 2 large flowers coloured in light Pumpkin Pie, flower centres in Dark Pumpkin Pie, 2 small flowers in light Balmy Blue, flower centres in dark Pumpkin Pie, 2 pairs of leaves and 2 single leaves coloured in light Old Olive.
- Add ladybird to complete card.
Second and Third Design altered cards
- Cut 2 Basic White Thick card bases 4″ x 11 ½” (10.2 cm x 29 cm). On the long side score at 5 ¾” (14.5 cm).
- Trim both back pieces of kit card to 3 ¾” x 5 ½” (9.5 cm x 14 cm). Place right side of card stock on top of Pattern of Friendship die with the dots face up and run it through the die cutting machine.
- Re-purpose the oval laser-cut labels and use the plain reverse side to stamp greeting from the Pattern of Friendship stamp set. I chose a birthday greeting for one, and the other which says “thanks for being the best bestie” for a bit of variety.
- Add the ladybirds as a finishing touch for each card.
