Easter treat – Meant to Bee. Easter Sunday falls on 20 April this year and I’ve noticed our grocery stores are filled with chocolate temptations! Which is your favourite brand of chocolate? Good old Cadbury’s, Belgian or Swiss chocolate? I’m afraid I don’t eat enough chocolate to possess that discerning palette! My mantra is See chocolate – Eat chocolate and that’s why I dare not stock chocolate in my house otherwise I would BE the size of a house!
Creating packaging for Lindt Easter Fun Bugs & Bees
I split a packet of the above and created cute little individual chocolate treats. Hope you like them.

Meant to Bee
In the January 25 Scrap-booking brochure there’s a bundle called Meant to Bee and there’s also several options on what’s available in the form of Designer Series Papers i.e., just a pack of 12 x 12 papers on its own, or a pack which includes a sticker sheet, or even a workshop kit which includes some exclusive papers which you won’t find anywhere else. I’ve used the Cute as can Bee 12 x 12 papers for my treat box.
Cutting guide
Picture shows cutting/scoring guide for an individual treat holder. However the instructions below show you how you can maximise cutting an A4 sheet to make 2 boxes instead of 1.

Shortcut : If making multiples, cut template to make 2 @ 11″ x 6″, and score once instead of cutting 2 @ 3″ x 11″ and scoring twice.
- You can get 2 boxes out of one A4 sheet. I used Granny Apple Green cut at 11″ x 6″ (27.5 cm x 15 cm).
- Orient card stock so that the long side is on top and score at 4″, 8″, 9″ and 10″ (10 cm, 20 cm, 22.5 cm, 25 cm) then rotate card stock a quarter turn so that the short side is on top and cut at 3″(7.5 cm) to create 2 boxes.
- Cute as can Bee 12″x 12″(30.5 x 30.5 cm) DSP – cut 2 ¾” x 3 ¾” (7 cm x 9.5 cm) and adhere to reverse side of Panel A.
- Adhere D1 to inside of panel A then centre 1 ¾” (4.4 cm) circle punch on this side to punch a circle. Reserve for later.
How to punch circle frame and attach floating panel

- Circle Frame : Scrap of Granny Apple Green card stock – punch a 1 ¾” (4.4 cm) first then centre 2″ circle punch over the punched out circle and punch again to create ¼” circle frame. Adhere to front of treat holder as pictured.
- Floating panel : Cut Granny Apple Green 2 ¾” x a tad under 3″ (7 cm x a tad under 7.5 cm). On the long side score at ½” (1 cm).
- Apply adhesive to ½” (1 cm) section and adhere short side shy of the score line to left of Panel A as pictured.
- Remove backing tap on D2 and align bottom edge of Panel B to edge of D2 and adhere to seal treat packaging.
- Adhere the punched out circle with DSP set aside earlier to the Floating panel aligned with the aperture.
Attach the chocolate and finishing touches

- Stamp antennae from Meant to Bee stamp set and die cut with die. Separate antennae by snipping in half and adhere with glue dots as pictured.
- Die cut a trio of flowers and adhere to chocolate with glue as shown. Attach adhesive backed sparkle gems on flower centres then adhere on top of bee covering ends of antennae.
- Scrap of Basic White card stock – die cut the heart and cut in half for the wings and attach to sides with glue dots.
- Stamp greeting on Granny Apple Green card stock and die cut with Stylish Shapes label die. Adhere to front of treat holder as pictured.
- Punch two holes at top of treat holder and thread Daffodil Delight ⅛” (3.2 mm) satin ribbon from back and tie bow on the front.
- Lastly add trio of adhesive backed sparkle gems as shown.
