Retirement card with new Online exclusive. Here’s the brand new May Online exclusive called Sunrise Sailing. The bundle is a special one because the bundle consists of the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing folder which includes a set of dies and it is bundled with the Sunrise Sailing stamp set. Not many stamp sets contain “happy retirement” sentiment in it. Consequently, it’s handy to have especially since there are times when there is someone you know is retiring.

Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder

The Sunrise Sailing Bundle consists of a set of Photopolymer stamps and a Hybrid Embossing folder which allows you to emboss and die cut the sailboat image on the left. Also there are additional dies for smaller sailboats, clouds, gulls and waves.

How to make the card

  1. Card base : Fresh Freesia cut at 4 ⅛” x 11 ½” (10.5 cm x 29 cm) and folded in half.
  2. Mat layers card front and inside : Secret Sea {new In Color 2025-2027} 2 pieces cut at 4″x 5 ⅝” (10.2 cm x 14.2 cm) then adhere one piece on the card front. Set aside remaining piece for later.
  3. DSP Thoughtful Journey 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) : 1 piece cut at 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (9.8 cm x 14 cm). Set aside.
  4. Strip of 2 tone Boho Blue {last chance product} 1 ⅜” x 5 ½” (3.5 cm x 14 cm). Emboss just the sea with the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid embossing folder. Then carefully tear lengthways toward you to expose the white core. Alternate the colours, Light, Dark, Light as pictured and adhere with dimensionals to the DSP in step 3. Flip over to trim off any excess then adhere DSP to Secret Sea layer on card front leaving an even border all round.

Die cutting elements

  1. Next insert a scrap of Basic White into the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder to die cut the large sailboat.
  2. Ink up corresponding stamp with Secret Sea Ink and place die cut sailboat right side face down over stamp and rub your fingers over the stamp to pick up inked image. Then ink up the filler stamp and stamp off first before stamping the hull of the boat. Insert boat in between waves as pictured and adhere sails with a double stack of dimensionals.
  3. Die cut the medium and small sails out of the remnants of DSP and set aside. In the meantime, die cut one each of the body of the medium and small sailboat out of Pecan Pie.
  4. Curl the sails and attach to respective boats. Adhere the medium one tucked behind waves as pictured.
  5. Die cut the clouds out of Basic White card stock. Optional to apply Fresh Freesia on the clouds.
  6. Stamp the seagulls in Secret Sea, and Happy Retirement on the larger cloud.
  7. Adhere small cloud first, followed by larger cloud on top with dimensionals.

Inside card

  1. Adhere the Secret Sea mat layer to the inside of the card leaving an even border all round.
  2. Cut a Basic White piece measuring 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (9.8 cm x 14 cm).
  3. Partially emboss the bottom with the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid embossing folder.
  4. Use a blending brush and lightly apply Balmy Blue ink on the sea.
  5. Adhere your smallest sailboat and sails in the bottom left corner.
  6. Stamp sea gulls and glue Basic White piece on top of Secret Sea mat layer to finish card.
