Fancy fold – Textured Notes. Another fancy fold with Textured Notes! I thought I’d give it some “love” and have continued with the theme. I used the wonderful Textured Notes Dies which has 7 nested rectangular dies. Each die has a different border pattern. There’s an eighth die which is long and narrow to fit the sentiment in the stamp set.

Botanical Textures 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) DSP colour palette is Basic Black and it’s a colour I do not gravitate toward except during Halloween. So now that I’ve got the pack out, I’m trying to use it up.

Here’s the card I made. The card has a fold over flap incorporated into the card front and I used the 4th smallest die to cut my Basic White panel attached to the front flap. The 4th smallest die I used to cut the panel measures 2 ¼” x 3 ¾” (5.72 ½” cm x 9.5 cm) so I cut the Smoky Slate mat layer ¼” larger at 2 ½” x 4″ (6.4 cm x 10.2 cm).

Cutting guide

1. Card base template : Smoky Slate 8″ x 8 ¼” (20.3 cm x 21 cm)
2. Orient short side (8″ or 20.3 cm) in trimmer and align left edge at 5 ¾” (14.5 cm)
3. Score from 0″ down to 4 ⅛” (10.5 cm) with light grey blade.
4. Switch to dark grey cutting blade and cut from 4 ⅛” (10.5 cm) down to the bottom @ 8 ¼” (21 cm).
5. Rotate card stock on long side [8 ¼” (21 cm)] with the score line toward the top. Align left edge at 4 ⅛” (10.5 cm) and cut from 0″ down to 2 ¼” to remove rectangle. The card base will look like the picture on the left.
6. Cut DSP 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (9.8 cm x 14 cm) and adhere to front of card (refer to picture on the right above)

Mat layers

1. Front flap : Basic Gray 3 ⅞” x 2″ (9.8 cm x 5 cm) emboss with Mini Corrugated 3D embossing folder and adhere to flap.
2. Cut Textured Notes 4th smallest die in Basic White. Stamp sentiments and leaves with Basic Gray ink and Smoky Slate ink.
3. Adhere to Smoky Slate mat layer cut at 4″ x 2 ½” (10.2 cm x 6.4 cm).
4. Place dimensionals to flap and adhere Textured Rectangle to it. Add Neutral Matte dots.
5. Cut Basic White layer 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (9.8 cm x 14 cm). Stamp leaves.
6. Next adhere strip of DSP 1″ x 3 ⅞” (2.5 cm x 9.8 cm) on top, then adhere Basic White piece to inside of card.
