Gingerbread man Christmas card

Gingerbread man Christmas card. Episode 2, week 2 of my 12 week Countdown to Christmas Series and I’m really excited about this one! The gingerbread man die is HUGE! Why? Because the die cuts out a pair of Gingerbread men with a hinge to create a mini card. I’ve tried to incorporate as many of the dies I could in this Gingerbread man Christmas card to illustrate what the dies do.

Gingerbread Man Bundle

The Crumb Cake layer was embossed with the new Christmas Words Collage Hybrid Embossing Folder which you’ll find on page 57 of the new September-December 2025 Mini catalogue and the Gingerbread Man Bundle is on page 54.

In the Gingerbread Man Die set, there are some lovely extras. For example: a woolly hat, scarf, peppermint lolly, candy cane, speech bubble, a christmas mug and a bow.

Dies used for this card

Here are some pictures to illustrate how I used the dies. The speech bubble is raised with dimensionals and helps to keep the mini Gingerbread man card closed by being tucked underneath it. The wiggly die is for cutting the “snapped” off piece of gingerbread biscuit.

Inside card

You need to die cut a pair of peppermint lollies in contrasting colours i.e. one in white and the other in a shade of red or green. When you glue the separate elements you can switch the colours around to give the lollies the two tone effect. The die cuts both elements with one pass through the die cutting machine.

Cutting guide

1. Card base : Real Red cut at 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm) and folded in half.
2. Crumb Cake layer : 5 ½” x 3 ⅞” (14 cm x 9.8 cm) embossed with Christmas Words hybrid embossing folder.
3. Copper Clay card stock : die cut gingerbread man.
4. Use the wiggly die to die cut the right half of the gingerbread man’s right arm.
5. Scrap of Basic White – die cut speech bubble.
6. Die cut 2 hats and 1 scarf with Real Red card stock.
7. Die cut pepper mint lolly – one in Basic White and the other in Real Red card stock.
8. Basic White mat layer for inside of card : 5 ½” x 3 ⅞” (14 cm x 9.8 cm)

Card Assembly

Card front

1. Adhere embossed Crumb Cake layer to card front leaving an even border on all 4 sides.
2. Stamp the inside of the Gingerbread man with Copper Clay ink as shown. Also stamp different faces and buttons on front as shown. For the cheeks, stamp with second generation Real Red ink.
3. Front of gingerbread man – Stamp with Versamark ink and white emboss the outline, face and buttons.
4. Stamp second generation Real Red ink cheeks.
5. Adhere hat and scarf to embossed gingerbread man.
6. Apply adhesive to back of gingerbread mini card and adhere on embossed Crumb Cake layer.
7. Stamp “Oh Snap” in Real Red ink on speech bubble and apply dimensionals on the back. Adhere to card front ensuring that it overlaps head of gingerbread man a tad so that you can tuck the closed gingerbread mini card underneath.

Inside mini Gingerbread card

1. Apply adhesive to back of remaining hat.
2. Align it as best you can back to back. Adhere wrong sides facing each other so that both right sides are facing outwards.

Inside card

1. Adhere the Real Red accent piece to the Basic White lolly stick. Use a blending brush and add colour to the lolly handle only with Copper Clay ink.
2. Next adhere White accent piece to Real Red lolly stick. Apply adhesive to both, arrange and adhere in bottom left corner as pictured.
3. Stampin jelly tots with Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight ink.
4. Lastly Stampin greeting with Real Red ink.

Voila! A fun novelty Christmas card with this Gingerbread Man Bundle! Isn’t it cute?
