Autumnal card – Gathering Moments. What do you think of the Gathering Moments dies so far? There isn’t a doubt that those leaves are LARGE! I wasn’t sure to start with, and resisted the temptation to get this set, but after a lot of procrastination, I did invest in it and am so glad I did! Of the two leaf designs, this Maple leaf is certainly my favourite.

The Gathering Together Specialty Designer Series Papers are gorgeous. To be honest, I bought those first and in the end, felt I just had to have its coordinating stamps and dies! So much for me resisting temptation!

Cutting guide

1. Card base Crushed Curry cut at 5 ¾” x 8 ¼” (14.5 cm x 21 cm) and folded in half.
2. Cajun Craze mat layer card front : 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (9.8 cm x 14 cm).
3. Gathering Together 12 x 12 Specialty DSP : 3 ¾” x 5 ⅜” (9.5 cm x 13.7 cm)
4. Scrap of Cajun Craze to die cut maple leaf.
5. Label : Cajun Craze strip 1″x 2 ½” (2.5 cm x 6.4 cm) and 2 pieces cut at ⅞”x 1″ (2.2 cm x 2.5 cm)
6. Inside card : Basic White 3 ⅞” x 5 ½” (9.8 cm x 14 cm).

Assembling card

Card front

1. Adhere Cajun Craze layer on the card front leaving an even border on all 4 sides, followed by Gathering Together Specialty DSP plaid pattern.
2. Use Bakers Twine Essentials pack – I chose the beige coloured one to sew running stitch one way and back the other way to fill in gaps so that it was less bulky and more economical than doing a backstitch to sew on the Maple leaf. Apply dimensionals on the back and adhere to card front.
3. Scrunch of Gold open weave ribbon and thread through tapestry needle and poke it through the gap of stem of leaf and tie bow. Secure with glue dot underneath.

Label

1. Stamp sentiment on Cajun Craze 1″x 2 ½” (2.5 cm x 6.4 cm) strip with Versamark ink. Gold emboss with Metallics Wow! embossing powder and heat set. Apply dimensionals on the back and adhere as shown.
2. Stack the two ⅞”x 1″ (2.2 cm x 2.5 cm) Cajun Craze pieces on top of one another and cut flag end one end. Insert either side of label and adhere directly onto DSP card front as shown.

Inside card

1. Use the plaid stamp and ink up with Crushed Curry ink and stamp in bottom left corner.
2. Ink up the stamp with the teeny lines with Cajun Craze ink and stamp on top of plaid stamp.
3. Adhere Basic White layer to inside of card to finish, leaving an even border on all 4 sides.
