Long slim autumn card

Long slim autumn card. Finally for the last card I made with the Gathering Moments bundle is a long, slim autumn card which will fit in a DL envelope. I also used the Traditional Labels dies which is part of the Traditions of Christmas Suite collection in the September-December 25 mini on pages 21-27. By the way, the clocks go back an hour so I hope you enjoyed your extra lie in!

Do you know that there isn’t a single sheet in The Gathering Together 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty Designer Series Papers that I don’t like. Often times there’s always one or two sheets in a pack that really isn’t my jam, but I can use the reverse. In this pack, both sides are equally pleasing, in my humble opinion, but it’s all about taste, isn’t it? Life would be so boring if we were all cut from the same cloth!

Cutting guide

  1. Card base : Very Vanilla card stock 7” x 8 ¼” (18 cm x 21 cm) and folded in half.
  2. Cajun Craze layers : cut 2 pieces one for front, and the other for inside 3 ¼” x 8” (8.5 cm x 20.5 cm).
  3. Gathering Together Specialty DSP card front : 3 ⅛” x 7 ⅞” (8 cm x 20 cm).
  4. Inside card : Very Vanilla 3 ⅛” x 7 ⅞” (8 cm x 20 cm).
  5. Die cut copper foil label from Traditional Labels die.
  6. Stamp “Gather” in Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla card stock and die cut with larger oval Traditional labels die.

Stamping and die cutting

Stamp all images on Very Vanilla card stock. Remember to leave sufficient space between images to fit the dies.

  1. Cajun Craze ink : stamp two oak leaves
  2. Pecan Pie ink : stamp 2 acorns
  3. Old Olive ink : stamp 4 oval leaf sprigs
  4. Crushed Curry ink : stamp 3 smaller oak leaves and by inking up with Crushed Curry first then run Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write markers along edge of stam before stamping to get that two-tone effect.
  5. Cherry Cobbler ink : stamp 3 berry clusters

Die cut all the stamped images with the corresponding dies and set aside.

Assembly

Card front
  1. Adhere Cajun Craze mat layer followed by DSP layer leaving an even border on all 4 sides.
  2. Run some Stamp n’ seal tape in the middle and lay a length of Gold open weave ribbon back and forth as pictured.
  3. Arrange the die cut pieces on either side of the copper label as shown and when you’re happy with position, adhere to card front with glue dots.
  4. Adhere copper foil label directly on top of ribbon.
  5. Apply dimensionals to back of Very Vanilla label and adhere on top of copper foil label as shown.
Inside card
  1. Stamp the large oak leaf, followed by the berries, then the acorns as pictured with Cajun Craze, Pecan Pie and Cherry Cobbler inks.
  2. Adhere Very Vanilla layer to inside of card base.

I omitted putting any embellishments on this card bearing in mind how thick the card is with all those layers. Hope you enjoyed seeing all these cards from Gathering Moments as much as I’ve enjoyed making them.
