Faceted star gift bag – Traditions of Christmas

Faceted star gift bag – Traditions of Christmas. Today’s project is a variation of the pinched star gift bag I did in this post HERE. I used the lovely papers from Traditional Christmas 12″x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty Designer Series Papers.

Other materials used

The Labels are from the Traditional Labels Die set in the Traditions of Christmas Suite Collection and the stamped image on the label is from Gift of Joy stamp set. The white & gold twine is from the Black & White & Gold Baker’s Twine which is part of the Modern Christmas suite collection.

Cutting guide

• Cut DSP at 6” x 10 ½” (15 cm x 26.5 cm). Short side on top, score at ¾” (2 cm).
• Rotate DSP 180^o and score opposite side at 1 ¼” (3 cm).
• Measure 2 ¼” (5.5 cm) from bottom edge and draw a pencil line along the length of DSP as shown in picture on the left. This is the mark for partial scoring.
• On the long side, partially score to 2 ¼” (5.5 cm) pencil mark at 1″, 3″, 5″, 7″ and 9″ (2.5, 7.5, 12.5, 17.5 cm, 22.5 cm). Then score all the way down on even numbers at 2″, 4″, 6″, 8″ and 10″ (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 cm)
• Burnish all the score lines. then orient card stock so that the narrow tab is on the right and cut the bottom panel as pictured along the 2″, 4″, 6″, 8″ and 10″ (5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 cm).
• Remove the small rectangles at the top and bottom as pictured.

Flip DSP to reverse side

• Flip DSP to reverse side and apply tear n’ tape at the top and side flap.
• Turn down the top as shown and adhere to main body of bag.

Assembling gift bag

• Pinch the top so that it is flat and secure with bull dog clip so you can punch holes for the bakers twine/ribbon. Thread Bakers twine/ribbon through before you remove bulldog clip. (not pictured)
• Upend bag so that the bottom is facing you. Overlap each flap and tuck last one in as shown, then secure with a punched circle in a coordinating colour with adhesive.

Finishing touches

• Die cut one Traditional label in White and one in Cherry Cobbler. Stamp the christmas bauble and bow from Gift of Joy stamp set.
• Apply dimensional to stamped white label and adhere to Cherry Cobbler label as shown.
• Adhere a faceted snowflake in the centre of the bow. The faceted snowflak is from the online exclusive Elegant Pine Snowflakes suite
• Attach label to the Bakers Twine – insert your gift into bag before tying it closed.
