Gift card holder – Ornamental Christmas

Gift card holder – Ornamental Christmas. The Ornamental Christmas bundle is part of the Modern Christmas suite which is an online exclusive released in September 2025. It took me a while to warm to the black and gold hues. What swayed me was that it would be great as masculine gift card holders.

The suite consists of the Ornamental Christmas bundle, a 12 x 12 pack of Modern Christmas Specialty Designer Series paper, large gold hoops and Black and Gold Bakers twine.

I added a pop of colour by adding a Real Red mat layer.

Cutting & Scoring guide

1. Cut Basic White card stock at 4 ⅛” x 11” (10.5 cm x 28 cm). Long side at the top, score at 4 ½”, 5 ½”, 6 ½” (11.4 cm, 14 cm, and 16.5 cm)
2. Burnish folds – at 4 ½” (11.4 cm) is a Valley fold, 5 ½” (14 cm) is a Mountain fold and 6 ½” (16.5 cm) is a Valley fold. Pictured above is the card folded in half backwards.
3. Align the fold to right of cutting groove at ¼” (0.5 cm) and cut from ⅜” down to 3 ¾” (1 cm down to 9.5 cm). Then use scissors to trim off the middle as pictured above.

Sealing the bottom of gift card aperture and mat layers

1. Apply tear n’ tape at the bottom of the first score line. Remove tape. Insert gift card through aperture and close card to seal it.
2. Cut 2 pieces Real Red Mat layer #1 at 3 ⅞” x 4 ¼” (9.8 cm x 10.8 cm). Adhere 1 to front of card and one on inside right of card.
3. DSP Mat layer #2 card front and 1 for inside left of card base 3 ⅝” x 4” (9.2 cm x 10.2 cm). Adhere 1 piece to card front on top of Real Red mat layer. Adhere remaining piece to inside left of card base.
4. Basic White mat layer #2 inside card on right 3 ⅝” x 4” (9.2 cm x 10.2 cm). Stamp pine tree in Tuxedo Black Memento ink twice, one in first generation ink and second time in second generation ink (without reinking stamp). Adhere to Real Red mat layer.

Finishing touches on front of card

1. Die cut Basic White circle with Ornamental Christmas die. Stamp Merry Christmas with Real Red ink. Attach dimensionals to top and bottom of circle.
2. Attach approximately 16″ (40 cm) of Real Red ribbon to front of card and wrap it around back. Apply dimensionals on either side of ribbon to form a “track”. Remove backing on dimensionals and also the ones on the stamped circle and adhere to card front in the centre equi-distance on all 4 sides.
3. Apply adhesive to the metal gold hoop top and bottom and adhere to card front leaving an even border between circle and hoop.
4. Add a combination of gold and Real Red Traditional Sparkling Sequins.
5. Insert gift card and address recipient etc before closing card and tying a flat knot to complete card.
