Quadruple z-fold -Hobby Haven

Quadruple z-fold – Hobby Haven. Here’s another novelty card using the Hobby Haven 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty Designer Series Papers. These papers have two sheets of pre-cut images in addition to the usual double sided papers in the pack. This was another online exclusive released in November 25 and is part of the Hobby Haven Suite Collection.

The other stamp and punch bundle I used is also an online exclusive which launched in November 25 too. It’s called Banner Sayings and is bundled with the Three Banner punch. I’m also featuring the Swirled Designs Bundle another November 25 online exclusive which are abstract shapes for stamping backgrounds. You can create decorative pieces with its coordinating dies to stamp and cut out the shapes.

Quadruple z-fold card

It’s easier than you think! It’s called a Quadruple z-fold because 4 strips of card stock have been cut and scored with the same dimensions as the card base itself. Then you orient them the opposite way to adhere them to the panel on the front and voila!

Cutting guide

The metric version in brackets are direct conversions from imperial rather than rounding it off.

1. Card base : Coastal Cabana cut at 5 ¾” x 7 ¼” (14.5 cm x 18.5 cm). On the long side, score at 1 ½” and 3” (3.8 cm and 7.6 cm). Burnish well.
2. Z-folds : Cut 4 strips of Coastal Cabana at 1″ x 7 ¼” (2.5 cm x 18.5 cm). On the long side, score at 1 ½” and 3” (3.8 cm and 7.6 cm). Burnish well.
3. Front z-fold Basic Beige mat layers : cut 4 pieces ¾” x 2 ⅝” (1.9 cm x 6.6 cm)
4. Side panel z-fold strips Basic Beige : cut 4 pieces ¾” x 1 ¼” (1.9 cm x 3.2 cm)
5. Back panel Basic Beige mat layer : 4″ x 5 ½” (10.2 cm x 14 cm)
6. Basic White back panel : 3 ¾” x 5 ¼” (9.5 cm x 13.3 cm)

Assembly instructions

1. Attach the top and bottom z-fold strips first. Refer to picture on left. Flip the z-fold strips so that the 1 ½” and 3” (3.8 cm and 7.6 cm) score lines is on the right. Align the strips with the top left and bottom left corners and adhere to front panel. Apply adhesive on the underside of the last z-fold panel on right, tuck under, align with top right and bottom right respectively and close card to adhere.
2. Take remaining z-fold strips and space them evenly and repeat.
3. Adhere the DSP strips to the Basic Beige front side panel mat layers then adhere these to each side panel on the left and right leaving an even border on all 4 sides.
4. Squash card flat and adhere the embossed Basic Beige ¾” x 2 ⅝” (1.9 cm x 6.6 cm) pieces on the horizontal z-fold strips on the front.
5. Next adhere the embossed Basic Beige ¾” x 1 ¼” (1.9 cm x 3.2 cm) to the z-fold side panels.
6. Decorate as you wish with the pre-cut elements and sentiment and label from the Banner Sayings bundle.

Back of card

1. Adhere Basic Beige 4″ x 5 ½” (10.2 cm x 14 cm) layer to back of card.
2. On Basic White layer, stamp 2nd generation Coastal Cabana ink with images from Swirled Designs stamp set.
3. Fussy cut images from Hobby Haven DSP to adhere to bottom left corner as pictured above to complete card.
