Inspiration from Catalogue

Did you know that the catalogue is a fantastic source of inspiration?  It’s not just pretty pictures to show off the stamps –  it can be tweaked and made your own and you merely use their samples as a springboard!

Here’s an example – apologies for this blurred picture below of Stampin’ Up!’s catalogue sample.  It was done in Whisper White.  I used the same colours as listed in the You Can Make It Collection and put my own stamp on it!

.

Spot the difference!  I distressed a corner of the Very Vanilla layer so that it would break down the fibers and I could peel back a corner of it.  Then I sponged  the edges with Berry Burst ink to give the card layer more definition in lieu of having to add more card stock tweeked it to make it my  own.

After stamping the sentiment, I trimmed it at an angle at both ends. and adhered it with dimensionals.  Ta Dah!  Job done!

Hope you like it!  Pop back next Sunday for the other two!
