Clean and simple Card for Mother’s Day with Welcoming Window

I really enjoyed making this clean and simple card for Mother’s Day using the Welcoming Window Bundle. In England we mark Mothering Sunday on the second Sunday of March so this week I’ve had to squeeze as many Mother’s Day cards as I could!

Last time I used the Welcoming Window Bundle, I created an interactive card which you can see HERE . This time, I wanted to use the cut and emboss dies which die cuts these shutters, window box and window frames and also embosses the wood grain effect simultaneously!

Window dressing

No window is complete without some window dressing, so I punched out the “roller blind” with the rectangular postage stamp punch. The paper is from “Flowers for Every Season” . I sponged the window box, shutters and window frame in Crumb Cake.

Embossing and layering

The Basic White layer was embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder. I love the dies from the Window Flower box dies which coordinate with the Welcoming Window stamp set.

Of course there are the usual dies to fit stamped images, but in addition, the cut and emboss ones like the window frames, shutters and window box also comes with the hinge dies!

Inside the card

Extra layers for the inside of the card was added to counter balance the weight on the front of the card. I nearly missed this little corner stamp, but it was just perfect for stamping on the inside. So much attention is given to the front of the card, I like to keep things simple on the inside!

Press play to see how the card came together!
