Pop out partially die cut birthday card

Warmer weather calls for a pop out partially die cut birthday card and ice lolly images! I’m so disappointed that the Ice Cream Corner Suite on page 49 of the January-June 2021 mini is retiring. There is such a short window to blog about this. iIce cream is one of my favourite foods! Is it yours?

Ice lollies are really refreshing on a hot summer’s day, but I can eat ice cream in a cone any time of the year, even in the middle of winter! You can see the Ice Cream cone card I made HERE using a blended technique background.

Blackberry Bliss isn’t my colour of choice. It came about because these were the colours in the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Papers. Also, the ribbon in the Ice Cream Corner Suite is Blackberry Bliss.

The card base is in Basic White Thick which I cut smaller than my usual cards to make each panel easily divisible by the number 2. You can see that the circle is only partially cut, so that it would pop out when the card is closed.

There is always a “right” side and a “wrong” side to any die cut. In order to cover up the “wrong” side, I die cut a Stitched circle which I stamped on before adhering it.

When you open it, the “happy birthday” sentiment is visible. By tracing the outline of the card front when closed, it gave me a guide as to where to stamp. Partial die cutting is a great technique to use to elevate an ordinary card from ordinary to extraordinary.
