Card Sketch card- design your own

I decided to design my own card sketch using a graphic design platform called Canva. It really was a “light bulb” moment using that first sketch in the Tech 4 Stampers blog hop last week. It was so easy to use the same sketch to make another card just by switching the stamp set and colour palette which I did HERE so it inspired me to have a go at creating my own!

Not bad for a first attempt, even if I say so myself! Feel free to use my sketch and leave me a comment or share your creation and include a link to your project in the comment box below.

Here’s how I interpreted my sketch. Purple Posy is one of the retiring In Colours, so I used it as my card base to try and use up my current stock. The mat layer is in Gorgeous Grape. I embossed the next layer of Purple Posy with the Subtles 3D embossing folder which is retiring soon. Also retiring is the Stitched Nested Label dies which I die cut in Basic white.

Another retiring product is the Butterfly Wishes Cling stamp set. The butterfly was initially stamped in Petal Pink and I used a “rock and roll” technique to make the butterfly wings outline darker. I fussy cut the butterfly and adhered it to the Stitched Nested label with glue dots.

Happily the Pierced Blooms have carried over to the new Annual catalogue. Whilst I watch TV, I often die cut various floral sets or shapes and store them in separate boxes. They’re on hand to use whenever needed and it’s certainly a time saver!
