I don’t know about you, but I don’t mind doing a little bit of fussy cutting now and then, but if you’re making cards en mass, having the dies to do the work for you is a definite plus!
The cake stand was cut using the die too, and believe it or not, I cut it from Whisper White cardstock and coloured it in with Stampin’ blends!
In addition to cutting out the cake and flowers in one piece, there is also a separate die which cuts out the flowers only, so I stamped two cakes, and left one whole, and die cut just the flowers on the other.
Unfortunately the photo doesn’t do it justice, because up close and personal, the flowers and cake stand has Clear Wink of Stella and it glints and sparkles when you move or tilt the card.
I resurrected my Lace 3D embossing folder, and it makes a super backdrop for the cake. In this set of birthday dies, there was one which cut and embossed the leaves, and another for the floral buds.
