A clean simple punched card which I’m excited to share in today’s project! I’m always excited, especially when there’s a new punch!
I wanted to show you an alternative way to use that rainbow die. In last Sunday’s post I showed you how the rainbow can be die cut from the Sunshine & Rainbows 6″x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) DSP.
How to make different coloured rainbows
I wanted to use a vellum card stock layer so that the patterned paper underneath is still visible. Vellum isn’t the best medium to stamp on, so in order to create a rainbow I had to find an alternative solution.
You can cut a selection of 2″ strips of coloured card stock, back each strip with an Adhesive sheet and die cut several sets in the same colour. Then you can mix and match the rainbow according to size. The card stock with adhesive sheet backing will easily adhere to vellum.
New cloud punch
There is a cloud punch which can be bought separately. It fits the clouds on one of the sheets of Sunshine & Rainbow Designer Series Papers. It’s also great for punching clouds out of card stock to stamp greetings or sentiments on.
Stripes & Splatters 3D embossing folders
I’ve featured the stripes embossing folder in previous posts, but even though the label is tiny, I stamped the sentiment on the rainbow label die cut and embossed it with the splatter 3D embossing folder to add texture to it.
Inside card
To tie the inside of the card to the card front, I die cut another scalloped border. It’s best to stick an adhesive sheet on the back of the DSP before die cutting the scalloped edge to facilitate adhering it to the card base.
Here’s a quick video to demonstrate how the card came together.
