Happy Easter wishes – Daffodil Daydream

Hello! Happy Easter wishes to you all with Daffodil Daydream. Even though it’s just hubby and I, I’ll still be cooking a whole joint. Our son is still in isolation having caught Covid, and our daughter won’t be coming down this time so it’ll be a quiet one.

I had my booster jab for Covid on Thursday. They said one of the side effects are flu like symptoms so I’m thankful I’m not entertaining in case I feel under the weather.

We were at the Garden Centre earlier in the week and bought some clematis and sweet peas for our planter in front of the kitchen so hubby is planning to do a bit of gardening to catch up …. hurrah!!!

This is my card to wish you all a Happy Easter. There are rather a lot of dies to make up each flower. I covered how to assemble the daffodils in a previous post which you can see HERE.

Top Tip

As you can see from the photo, to make up each daffodil, you need several die cuts. If you group those together, then you can cut all the elements required with one pass through the die cutting machine. I use a product called Glad Press n’ Seal which keeps all the dies together.

How to create the vintage look

I love vintage cards. You can create the “aged” look by using the edge of the scissors to distress the edges. It’s also been embossed with the Hive 3D embossing folder. I lightly ran a blending brush inked with Crumb Cake over the embossed honeycomb pattern to age it further.

When you use Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers it is recommended to use Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Memento ink is quick drying it is reputed not to smear when other markers are applied to them. In this instance I broke the rules and used Gray Granite instead. I used Mango Melody, So Saffron and Old Olive and thankfully it hasn’t smeared.

Enjoy your Easter – weather permitting we may have a barbecue!
