Cutest Cathedral arched box- Elephant Parade

I loved making the cutest cathedral arched box ever with the Elephant Parade bundle. When you stagger the score lines it creates unusual curves and I was really chuffed with how it turned out! The box is great for party favours or treats. They can be personalised by adding a tag and just by changing the stamp set, it could be used for all sorts of occasions.

The box base is Basic White Thick card stock. There is an unusual addition to the tools you need. Can you guess what it is? A 9-1/2″ circular dinner plate to help score the arches. You could even use the base of a loose cake tin if your dinner service isn’t suitable. Some plates have fancy ridges, don’t they?

Another item you could use is a compass if you don’t have a suitable plate. You can draw a semi-circle on the narrow scored side of the card stock to create the petal closure. I used a retired 2-1/2″ circle punch to make the finishing touches neat and tidy. Refer to the video tutorial and it will all become clear.

Alcohol markers tend to bleed through to the other side of the card stock. I created a template on my Stamparatus with all the stamps so that I could die cut blanks. Then I inserted the blanks into the template and stamped the linear images in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured them in with a variety of Stampin’ blends before adhering it to the box. Problem solved!

Sometimes less is more. I didn’t want to overdress the box. There were just enough images in the stamp set to decorate the sides of the box without repetition.
